1. magical object: an object, for example, a stone or jewel, believed to give magical powers to somebody who carries or wears it

Lin's Talismans are constructed of a solid section of California Redwood
that is cut and carved with hand and power tools.
The painting process is almost identical to Lin's shaped paintings
with the occasional addition of collage and found objects.
 
Talismans are available in many shapes, however most are approximately
3 1/2 inches wide by 60 inches in length with a depth varying from 3 to 5 inches.
Four representative pieces are shown below, however many more are available.
